Leeds United are keen on a striker this summer and have been linked to Hamburg forward Davie Selke.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed his fitness record in recent seasons ahead of a potential move in the coming weeks.
The 30-year-old’s contract at the German club runs out this month, meaning he will be available on a free transfer.

Selke’s foot injury may cause concerns
The Whites may want to take a closer look at the German’s history of foot injuries before making a decision to sign him, according to Dr Brar.
Leeds United’s chiefs have been in direct contact to sign Selke and explore his demands with regard to wages. (Express, 2 June)

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Selke: “The club may take a closer look at his foot injury history, specifically if there are any concerns with his metatarsal healing, especially if it was a stress fracture related.
“That would most certainly weigh into their decision about signing him.
*“His game time last season suggests that he’s not carrying any post-injury issues, however.*“

Leeds United no longer need Selke
Selke would have been an excellent free transfer signing for Leeds United, offering a towering 6ft 5in presence and proven goal-scoring prowess, with 22 goals in 31 Bundesliga 2 games in 2024/25.
His physicality and experience could have bolstered Leeds’ attack, complementing their possession-based style under Daniel Farke while providing a focal point for crosses.
However, with Lukas Nmecha joining Leeds, their priorities shift.
Nmecha’s versatility and injury concerns suggest he’s not a guaranteed starter.
To ensure Premier League survival, the Elland Road outfit now need a top-calibre striker capable of consistently delivering 10-15 league goals to lead their line.
