‘Best of luck’: Decision on £15m Manchester United misfit confirmed as Ruben Amorim left with transfer headache

Manchester United are looking to move on a number of players this summer, including several returning loanees.

This is a huge summer for Ruben Amorim, but Manchester United have only completed one signing so far.

Matheus Cunha has joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers, securing a big-money move to Old Trafford.

United are still chasing Bryan Mbeumo, but a deal for the Brentford attacker is dragging on a little.

United must also offload some players to clear the decks for incomings while raising crucial funds.

Permanent homes for loaned-out misfits will be a focus, with several players unwanted under Amorim.

PSV Eindhoven say goodbye to Tyrell Malacia

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony all spent time away from United last season, but return to Old Trafford this summer.

United would love to sell all three players, especially given the wages the trio are earning.

Another loaned-out player who can leave this summer is Tyrell Malacia.

United sent Malacia on loan to PSV Eindhoven, with the Eredivisie side being given a permanent option as part of the deal.

Malacia helped PSV win the Eredivisie title in dramatic fashion, but a permanent move will not materialise.

PSV have said goodbye to Malacia this Sunday, sending a message to the left-back as he leaves the club.

‘Thank you and best of luck in the future, Tyrell,’ said PSV, all but confirming there will be no permanent move.

Reports in April suggested that PSV would send Malacia back to United, and that has proven to be the case.

Manchester United struggling to find Tyrell Malacia suitors

Malacia will now return to Manchester, though his first-team prospects at Old Trafford look pretty bleak.

United signed Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu in January and Malacia is unlikely to have a future under Amorim.

A sale would work out best for everybody, but reports suggest that United are struggling to find interest in Malacia.

Not only did Malacia fail to impress enough with PSV, but he also missed around 18 months of first-team action with United.

United paid around £15million for Malacia in 2022, but may now be forced to take a loss on the defender amid limited interest.

Amorim is now left with a headache in terms of whether to reintegrate Malacia over pre-season or leave him out of the plans and hope for interest from elsewhere before the transfer deadline.
