Guerschon Yabusele is emerging as a hot commodity in NBA free agency. The 6‑foot‑8 French forward, fresh off a silver medal with France at the 2024 Olympics, signed with the Philadelphia 76ers last August and rewarded the Sixers with a season.
He averaged 11 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 70 games, shooting 50.1% from the field and 38% from 3‑point range.
He’s been particularly impressive as a paint threat, using his 260‑pound frame to finish strong around the rim. However, he’s set to test the market in the upcoming free agency.
Multiple reports peg San Antonio as the leading threat. Thanks to his friendship with Olympic teammate Victor Wembanyama, Yabusele fits perfectly as a backup big man alongside the Spurs’ young star. Now, word is the Bucks are seriously in the mix, too.
"Multiple well-placed observers are describing San Antonio as the foremost threat to sign Yabusele away from the 76ers, but I'm also told that Philadelphia has not yet abandoned hope of convincing him to stay." Jake Fischer wrote on Saturday.
"The Spurs certainly boast a persuasive recruiter in the Yabusele chase — his Olympic teammate Victor Wembanyama — but word is Milwaukee is another team to watch here."

The Sixers still hope to retain him using the taxpayer MLE, though financial constraints tied to re-signing Quentin Grimes may limit their ability to match competing offers.
Milwaukee views Yabusele as an ideal complement to Giannis Antetokounmpo, filling Damian Lillard's offensive duties as a center to address depth issues in the frontcourt.
With Antetokounmpo as the centerpiece, Doc Rivers is reportedly eyeing Yabusele to solve spacing and defensive switchability, adding toughness, size and international experience to support a championship-caliber core.
