Seven Manchester United players have reacted after ex-Reds forward Anthony Martial announced the birth of his son.

Martial's contract at Old Trafford expired in the summer of 2024 as his eight-year spell in the Premier League came to an end. The former AS Monaco striker saw his final months as a United player hampered by injury, managing just 19 appearances in all competitions - 13 of which came in the Premier League.

The Frenchman signed with Greek giants AEK Athens as a free agent last summer. In 23 appearances, he has scored nine goals and provided two assists.

And the 29-year-old has now provided a life update on Instagram - announcing the birth of his son in several emotional pictures.

"My son May Jesus our Lord be with you to defend you, be before you to guide you, be behind you to guard you, inspire all your thoughts and actions; protect you and bless you. Love you @c.s.hte," he said, followed by a red love heart emoji.

Antony, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana and Diogo Dalot have been among the current United players to like his post.

Aaron Wan Bissaka, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Elanga, meanwhile, have been some of the former Reds players to offer their congratulations in comments on the post.

Martial won several major trophies at United between 2015 and 2024, including the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League. "Manchester United will always be in my heart," he wrote at the time of his departure.

"This club has left its mark on my career and offered me an incredible opportunity to play in front of you. I'm leaving to take on new challenges, I'll always be a Red Devil and I'll continue to follow the club's results with passion."
