The Boston Celtics are in offseason mode and have already been [one of the most active teams](https://chowderandchampions.com/celtics-must-trade-young-center-next-acquiring-anfernee-simons-01jyha9hxmbg) in the NBA since the Finals wrapped up. While Celtics fans are understandably laser-focused on what their team is going to look like next season and beyond, the most important question for the organization remains Jayson Tatum.
Tatum suffered a devastating Achilles tear in Game 4 against the New York Knicks in the playoffs. This ended Boston's season prematurely and put the future of the franchise as a title contender in jeopardy. It also raised questions about what Tatum will be as a player going forward.
How the 27-year-old superstar returns from his injury will determine the fate of the Celtics organization. Tatum's work ethic and resilience certainly leave no doubt that he is tackling his injury rehab head-on. However, on Friday, he seemingly expressed frustration about the recovery process on social media.
Jayson Tatum Seemingly Reveals Frustration About Achilles Rehab

Tatum said, "Day 45...this is some bull\*\*\*\*," to refer to how many days it has been since he suffered the injury.
Achilles tears are notably one of the most difficult injuries to come back from. It will be a long road ahead for Tatum, along with Damian Lillard and Tyrese Haliburton, who also suffered the same injury during the postseason. The general time frame for return to action is around a year.
While it is possible that Tatum could technically return towards the end of the 2025-26 season, it's wise not to rush the return. Even if he is able to return, it usually takes a little more time for players to fully feel like themselves. In fact, Kevin Durant, who suffered the injury in the 2019 playoffs, had said that while it took him 18 months to return, it was even longer to feel right.
So, Tatum's frustrations are understandable. Yet, Celtics fans have no doubt that their NBA champion will be back as good as he was before.
