Everton are interested in a move for Rangers star Hamza Igamane.

The Blues are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to leave at the end of his contract.

Igamane fired in 16 goals and notched three assists in his maiden season at Ibrox and has attracted significant attention as a result.

The Friedkin Group are set to back the Scotsman and the Gers ace could be a quality addition on Merseyside.

David Moyes‘ side faces competition from the likes of West Ham and Brentford and European sides for Igamane’s signature.

However, French outfit Lille have already made an offer of around the £14million mark for the Moroccan, with the Gers seeking a higher fee plus significant add-ons.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the Blues have the advantage in the race for Igamane, should a bidding war be sparked.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “It depends entirely on what value Everton’s recruitment team have placed on him, they will have a figure in mind beyond which they won’t want to go.

“Although they like him, you know, they like him up to a certain price, and that is the way it has to be with all the financial considerations going on these days, having to comply with the PSR rules.

“By the same token, you would not want to miss out on a player that you really liked to get on board, for the sake of two or three million.

“Then you are coming down to which club that the player fancies playing for, but the Premier League, I think, has that extra pull in the mind of most players these days as being perceived as the top league to play in.

“So, I think that is in Everton’s favour.”

Everton need to act fast if they want Igamane

The Toffees need to act fast if they want to secure the 22-year-old’s signature ahead of their rivals, as Ibrox News reported (29 June) that Lille have a double agreement with the player.

The Ligue 1 side are understood to have agreed personal terms and Igamane has committed to joining them but surely if the Blues make their interest known, that could change his mind because Darke states the Premier League is the pinnacle.

Moyes is in the market for several attackers this summer, with Villarreal forward Thierno Barry edging closer to a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium and the Light Blues ace would add even more firepower.
