Manchester United hope to sign Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window | Manchester World

Man United are working to bring in two attackers this week as they aim to improve under Ruben Amorim.

United have previously been linked with Nkunku, who is expected to leave Chelsea after struggling to get regular starts under manager Enzo Maresca last season. But how well could Man United do if they sign both Nkunku and Mbuemo? We asked Chat GPT to predict the Premier League table next season...

Predicted Premier League table for 2025/26 according to AI

1. Manchester City - 88 points

Pep Guardiola’s side will hope for better than last season, when they failed to even get themselves involved in the title fight. Having already signed the likes of Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Tijani Reijnders, they should improve.

2. Arsenal - 82 points

AI suggested that the Gunners finish second for the fourth consecutive season, six points behind Manchester City. Mikel Arteta will hope that the addition of a number nine will help his side to make the jump to a league title.

3. Liverpool - 79 points

Arne Slot’s side will hope to repeat their league title win from last season by adding the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez. AI, however, thinks that they will only manage third place.

4. Manchester United - 75 points

A huge improvement predicted by AI, as United earn 33 more points than they managed last season. It said that Nkunku and Mbeumo would link up well with new signing Matheus Cunha to create a real threat in Man United’s attack.

5. Chelsea - 72 points

The Blues recreate their fifth-place finish from last season despite already adding Liam Delap, who scored his first goal for the club in the Club World Cup this past week. The Blues are also expected to sign a winger, with Garnacho a potential target.

6. Tottenham Hotspur - 65 points

New manager Thomas Frank would likely be pleased with sixth place, in a season coming after a year where Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League table. They will have to balance league and Champions League football.

7. Newcastle United - 60 points

Last time Newcastle were in the Champions League, they struggled to balance the competition and faltered in the Premier League more. AI has suggested that the same thing could happen to them again.

8. Aston Villa - 57 points

9. West Ham United - 54 points

A much-improved season for Graham Potter’s side, who ended last year in 14th place. They spent a long period of the season close to the relegation zone and will be welcome for improvement next season.

10. Brighton - 52 points

11. Crystal Palace - 49 points

Palace’s form next season likely depends on who they can keep hold of, with Marc Guehi linked with a move to Liverpool, and Eberechi Eze a contender to leave the club too.

12. Wolves - 46 points

Ever since appointing Vito Pereira as Gary O’Neil’s replacement, Wolves saw an improvement last year. Despite losing Cunha to Man United, AI thinks they will improve under the manager.

13. Fulham - 44 points

Marco Silva’s side have become somewhat of an under-the-radar side in the mid-table of the Premier League. AI does predict that they will take a slight step back after finishing 11th last season.

14. Brentford - 42 points

A bit of a drop off for the Bees, who have already lost manager Thomas Frank. They are also likely to lose Mbeumo, with striker Yoane Wissa also a potential departure this summer too.

15. Everton - 40 points

David Moyes managed to turn around Everton’s season when he came in for Sean Dyche. He was able to guide them to 13th place last year. AI thinks they will have a safe first season at their new stadium.

16. Leeds United - 38 points

A great return to the Premier League for Leeds United, who are in the best position to stay up out of the newly-promoted sides based on their current squad, and the fact that they have plenty of money to spend in the transfer window.

17. Burnley - 36 points

Another newly-promoted side that AI thinks will stay up next year, Burnley are also in a good spot financially after they managed to secure automatic promotion from the Championship last season.

18. Sunderland - 34 points

The first relegated team is Sunderland, who will need some major recruitment in the summer window if they are able to stay up after their first season back in the Premier League since 2017.

19. Nottingham Forest - 32 points

A huge drop-off for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side after a season where they managed to secure European football. It would be a shock to see such a slide down the table, but AI can see it happening.

20. Bournemouth - 30 points

Another huge drop-off, but Bournemouth’s biggest challenge next season will be to replace some of their key players. Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen have left. Winger Antoine Semenyo has also been linked with a move away.
