"According to my sources..." - Fabrizio Romano shares fresh Mbeumo to Man Utd update

Manchester United are prepared to up the ante in their pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo this summer and remain confident of completing the transfer, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Red Devils have turned their attention towards proven talent in the Premier League as they look to bolster their squad following an abysmal 2024/25 campaign. They have already landed ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, after agreeing to a £62.5 million total package for the Brazilian.

Now, the attention at Old Trafford has shifted firmly towards Mbeumo, with United expected to submit an improved offer in the coming days as talks progress.

Romano: Man Utd 'Confident' of Signing Mbeumo

It could be a matter of time before the saga ends

Speaking to his YouTube channel, Romano provided the latest update on Manchester United's chase for Mbeumo, revealing the club remained determined to strike a deal. He said:

"Let me repeat once again that Man United remain confident, Man United remain optimistic. They still don't have an agreement with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, but the conversation is still ongoing. Manchester United, according to my sources, are prepared to improve that proposal. It's not just about numbers. It's not just about the transfer fee. It's also about the structure of the deal, payment terms, installments, also add-ons, [if they are] easy or difficult, how to activate it. Man United are working on all these details of the deal in order to try reach an agreement with Brentford."

Manchester United have seen two bids turned back for the Cameroonian international, with the most recent worth a total fee in the region of £62.5 million including add-ons.

No issues are expected if United are able to reach a total agreement with Brentford, as the player has already firmly given his green light to the switch. Premier League rivals Tottenham were previously poised to hijack the move for Mbeumo, but the 25-year-old, but he has informed the Lilywhites that he has no intention of playing for Thomas Frank's club next season.

GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that if Mbeumo were to sign with Manchester United this summer, he would be offered similar terms to those of Cunha, as the pair look to change Ruben Amorim's fortunes in attack.
