DETROIT. (WILX) - ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the United States District Attorney’s office is investigating NBA guard Malik Beasley for allegations of gambling that involve NBA games and prop bets.
Beasley allegedly was betting on games during the 2023-24 season when he was with the Bucks.
The 28-year-old was in talks with Detroit to sign a new three-year deal worth $42 million, but those talks have been paused.
NBA teams can agree to deals with free agents starting at 6 p.m. ET on Monday but can’t officially sign them until July 6th.
Beasley is a free agent after averaging 16.3 points and playing all 82 games last season with the Pistons.
