Arsenal top summer target Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly requested a face-to-face meeting with his current club, Sporting Lisbon, to decide his future.
Mikel Arteta’s side has made the addition of a centre-forward a top priority this summer and has been heavily linked with both Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. While Sesko appears to be staying at RB Leipzig, Gyokeres remains a viable and attractive target for the North London side.
The 25-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for several months, following two impressive seasons with Sporting in Portugal.
Gyokeres’ impressive form has caught the attention of several top clubs, but Arsenal remains his most persistent suitor. The transfer saga has been ongoing for some time, with reports suggesting that Gyokeres had a gentleman’s agreement with Sporting that would allow him to leave for a fee of around €60 million.

However, Sporting now seems unwilling to honour that figure, demanding a significantly higher fee amid increasing interest in the player.
This development has stalled progress and raised questions about whether Arsenal will meet the Portuguese club’s valuation or pivot to an alternative target.
The uncertainty surrounding Gyokeres’ future has made it essential for him to have a face-to-face meeting with Sporting’s hierarchy to resolve the situation.

Gyokeres’ meeting with the Sporting hierarchy will be crucial in determining his future and potentially paving the way for a transfer to Arsenal or Manchester United, who are two top EPL clubs vying for his signature.
For Arsenal, who are determined to bring in a striker capable of elevating their title credentials, the situation demands swift resolution. The Gunners have made the addition of a centre-forward a top priority this summer, and Gyokeres remains a viable and attractive target.

Arsenal interest in Gyokeres is driven by his impressive form and goalscoring ability. The Swedish forward has consistently performed well for Sporting, scoring crucial goals and providing creativity in attack.
His addition to the Arsenal squad would significantly enhance their attacking prowess and provide Mikel Arteta with a valuable option up front.
Gyokeres’ potential transfer fee and wage demands are also reportedly within Arsenal budget, making him a feasible target for the club. The outcome of Gyokeres’ meeting with Sporting will have significant implications for his future.
If a compromise can be reached, Arsenal may finally secure the prolific forward they have been searching for. However, if Sporting remains resolute in their demands, Arsenal may need to explore alternative options.
