Sky Sports: Leeds 'negotiating personal terms' with 'relentless' £17m star after Diarra snub

Leeds United are aiming to bolster their squad ahead of next season, with a return to the Premier League after two years in the Championship - and a report by Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri has stated that they are currently negotiating personal terms with Union Saint-Gilloise midfielder Noah Sadiki ahead of a potential move.

Having been relegated in the 2022/23 season, survival will be key to the 49ers Enterprises in their hopes of leading Leeds back to the top half of the top-flight. Signings in the ilk of Sadiki will help them in that regard, and with Tavolieri stating that there will soon be an outcome to his future, Daniel Farke will be hoping that they can be the side that win the race for his signature once personal terms are sorted.

The report by Tavolieri states that although Brentford have entered the race for Sadiki, Leeds are still in with a shout, alongside Eintracht Frankfurt also being in the running for the £17million-rated star.

Leeds are negotiating personal terms for the Belgian Pro League star, who has had a bright burst onto the scene in Belgium. Coming into the youth ranks at Anderlecht at the age of just six, Sadiki progressed all the way through to under-21 level, making his debut under Vincent Kompany before making the switch to Saint-Gilloise on a four-year deal back in 2023.

Featuring in 76 league games across two years, as well as making 23 European outings and his DR Congo debut in his time at the fellow Brussels outfit, it's been a rapid rise to the top for the 20-year-old, who has been described as 'relentless'.

Able to play across the pitch, Sadiki is primarily seen as a central midfielder and having seemingly lost out in the race to sign Strasbourg star Habib Diarra to fellow promoted side Sunderland, Sadiki could be the next best option to pad out Farke's midfield.

The German knows that he will need more incomings, having only welcomed Udinese star Jaka Bijol to the club in recent weeks and if Sadiki signs, it will be a huge statement of intent if they are to remain in the Premier League. Leeds need to buck the trend of promoted teams coming straight back down, which has been the case for the last two seasons.
