Alex Iwobi spent four years as an Everton player before making the move to fellow Premier League side Fulham, where he has remained ever since.

The Nigeria international bowed out as Everton‘s Player of the Season in 2022-23, leaving a massive void to be filled as Fulham splashed out a reported £22million.

Fulham fans are never short to aim Iwobi chants towards their Everton counterparts when the two sides face off.

Sean Dyche recently revealed Everton never wanted to sell Iwobi, but needs must and the winger has enjoyed two seasons at Craven Cottage.

And Iwobi has now reacted to some transfer news at his former side.

Tom Davies posted: “The sun may set but it will rise once again. So excited for your next adventure.”

Iwobi simply replied with a praying hands emoji, meanwhile, and Yannick Bolasie said: “DCL my bro, what a guy!”

Calvert-Lewin’s exit was always expected this summer due to how quiet it had gone on the new contract front.

Everton must sign new striker after Calvert-Lewin exit

Even had Calvert-Lewin signed a new deal on Merseyside, a new striker was going to be needed this summer.

It could therefore be argued that two now need to be recruited, and there are now only six weeks to go until the new Premier League season begins.

A number of names have been linked, but no deal appears to be close to going through.

As for Calvert-Lewin, a few different clubs have been mentioned as a next possible destination, including fellow Premier League side West Ham.

Calvert-Lewin wrote his name in Goodison folklore over his near-decade at the club, but there was always a sense he had reached the end of the road.

Injury problems have plagued him in recent times and it makes sense for all parties to start afresh from next season.
