Gyokeres has made another major decision.
Viktor Gyokeres has dropped a huge update that could change the saga over his future completely.
The Sporting Lisbon striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Portuguese champions this summer after scoring 52 goals in all competitions in the 2024/25 season.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus are all believed to be interested in signing him, with Corriere dello Sport claiming that Juve had a contract offer worth €13 million per year turned down by Gyokeres' camp.
The development of the saga in recent weeks surrounds comments made by Sporting president Frederico Varandas, who accused Gyokeres and his agent of 'blackmail' over claims that the club had agreed a set fee for the striker to leave this summer.
In response, it was reported that the Sweden international had gone on strike and would refuse to play for Sporting again.
Now, as per Fabrizio Romano, Varandas has again released a statement over Gyokeres' future.
"I'm not going to say what the price is," he began. "The player knows what it is. I can tell you that Viktor won't leave for €60 million plus €10m. He won't. He just won't."
Portuguese outlet Record now report that Gyokeres has not reacted well to the president's public proclamation.
It is claimed that the 27-year-old, who is paid a reported salary of €2.4 million per year, feels 'betrayed' and 'tired' and is said to 'insist on the pact made last year' over a transfer away from the Portuguese giants.
The report adds that Gyokeres has 'no intention' of returning to Sporting and playing for the club again, with the first team squad having not yet reported back for pre-season training.
