The Hornets strengthen their backcourt with Sexton, a competitive, tough-minded guard who can bring scoring and energy to a young Charlotte squad.

Last season, the 25-year-old averaged 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting an efficient 48.0% from the field and a strong 40.6% from beyond the arc.

On the other end of the deal, the Jazz add depth to their frontcourt with Nurkić. The Bosnian center brings size and experience to Utah’s rotation.

He posted 8.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game last season, shooting 47.7% from the field and 30.5% from three-point range.
