Two former Badgers will be reuniting in the NBA

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Utah Jazz have signed former Badger forward Steven Crowl to an Exhibit 10 contract.

Crowl joins John Tonje in Salt Lake City, who was selected with the 53rd overall pick on Thursday night.

This past season, Crowl started in all 37 games for Wisconsin, averaging almost 10 points per game, along with five rebounds and two assists. Crowl and Tonje led the Badgers to its 24th appearance in the Big Dance over the last 26 years.

With the Exhibit 10 contract, the MN-native is likely under a one-year, minimum salary agreement, which is not guaranteed. This will give Crowl the chance to compete for an official roster spot in the Summer League, or a spot on the Jazz’s G-League affiliate.

Given that Crowl is selected to Utah’s 15-man roster, his contract would be raised to either a two-way contract or a standard minimum deal.

If both Crowl and Tonje are maintained by the organization, they would also join former Badger center Micah Potter.

The Jazz will begin its Summer League play next Saturday against Philadelphia at 8 p.m.
