Manchester United players have been divorced from their wives across the years that span the history of the club.
The reasons for these divorces span across the spectrum from cheating to not saying “i love you” before a healthy relationship.
However, the reason for divorce is often complex, deeply thoughtful and emotionally charged.
But, in this case, we can see that the time that Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt and AnneKee have been together is remarkably short. This is because it has only lasted just under 2 years.
De Ligt is now on holiday again without AnneKee. The Dutch national team international is currently in Ibiza. The marriage of the former Ajax player did not last long. He married AnneKee on 9 June 2024.
With divorce paperwork and other elements of the divorce to still go through, this move could act as a distract to other, more helpful and more earning jobs such as football.
This could therefore decrease both the defends involvement and performance that he is able to put on. This could thefore decraese the quality and deph of the Manchester United squad which could decrease is ability to perform ecen beetter than last.
This may be disastrous for the Red Devils during the 2025 summer transfer window considering the reform that United are under that could see several key players including Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana.
These are players who have been linked with a move away from the club. This comes despite replacement now being fully lined up yet.
