Manchester United are reportedly preparing an offer for AC Milan star Rafael Leao as they look to strengthen their attacking options this summer, according to Caught Offside.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements with it becoming clear following the 2024/25 season that more firepower is required if the club is to avoid another disastrous 15th-placed finish in the Premier League.
Former Wolverhampton Wanderers star Mathues Cunha has already been sworn in to bolster the forwards department, while Manchester United are also optimistic of striking a deal with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo. Now, another winger in Europe has emerged as a key target.
United Set to Make Leao Offer
The 26-year-old is wanted by several European clubs
As per Caught Offside, Manchester United are poised to submit an initial offer worth around £60 million in an attempt to pry Leao away from AC Milan. The player, dubbed "one of the best in the world", has a purported €175 million (£150 million) release clause in his contract, but the Serie A outfit are prepared to negotiate closer to the £68-85 million mark.
One of the best wingers in world football, Leao has proven to be a devastating threat at times for the Rossoneri. He scored 12 times last season in 51 outings, serving up a further 11 assists for his teammates in the process, and former manager Sergio Conceicao went as far as to tip the player to be the "best player in the world next season".

The 26-year-old is also a regular international teammate with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, and he has registered 40 caps for Portugal, netting five goals.
United should look to make progress on their interest swiftly if they are serious about their chances of landing Leao, as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for his services as well.
