Earlier on in the window, it was reported that Ruben Amorim had contacted Victor Gyokeres regarding a move to the Red Devils. This approach did not turn out successful for the United boss and Gyokeres eventually snubbed a move to Manchester United due to their lack of European football.
However recently, the Swedish centre-forward has took a u-turn in his decision and has expressed his interest in joining his former manager at Old Trafford.
Since then, Victor Gyokeres has expressed his frustration towards Sporting CP’s hierarchy and has been attempting to force a move away from the Portuguese capital.
Victor Gyokeres finished 2nd in last season’s European Golden Boot, only missing out to Real Madrid’s superstar, Kylian Mbappe. It is no surprise that Europe’s elite are chasing the forward and that Gyokeres wants to leave and further develop his career elsewhere.

Victor Gyokeres is now refusing to return to Sporting Lisbon this summer in an attempt to force a move away from the club.
According to the Mirror, it is believed that Sporting have offered Gyokeres an extra week off before he is due to report for pre-season training. However, the Swede is expected to double down on his initial threat and boycott any form of a return and refuse to play for Sporting Lisbon.
With Manchester United and Arsenal both in the race to sign Victor Gyokeres could this be the catalyst the Swedish number nine needs to force a move to the Premier League.
