Ahead of Bayern Munich’s match against Flamengo, Paris Saint Germain took on Inter Miami and came out convincing 4-0 victors. Ergo, Bayern knew that overcoming Flamengo in the Round of 16 would see them face PSG in the quarterfinals.
Bayern did hold up their end of the bargain, though, and so will face PSG for the first time since November’s Champions League match, which the Bavarians won 1-0 through a header from Kim Min-Jae. Ousmane Dembélé even got a silly red card, prompting the press to get on his back for letting his team down again. How things change, eh? Now PSG are Champions League winners and Dembélé is one of the favorites for the Ballon D’or.
Still, @iMiaSanMia captures star striker Harry Kane’s insistence that Bayern can win the match:
“Another tough game,” the England captain said of the upcoming tie after the wina against Flamengo. “PSG had an amazing season. We played them earlier in the season and won. It will be difficult but we know we can beat anyone when we’re at our level. We’ll recover now and then give it our all.”
Can Bayern stun the European Champions? We’ll see.
