Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal turn to Etitike; Chelsea book Joao Pedro medical; Man Utd, Liverpool latest

Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres

Target: Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres

The end of June and beginning of July is set to kick the summer business up a gear, and Chelsea continue to be the biggest spenders of the window (and most windows) so far. Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens are set to join for a combined £105million, with the pair set to undergo medicals this week and the striker could make his debut in the Club World Cup on Friday evening.

Arsenal are also expected to confirm two new signings this week with Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga joining. Martin Zubimendi will not be far behind, and the club are working on a deal for Cristhian Mosquera after having an opening bid rejected. Mikel Arteta is desperate to spend big on a striker, and Benjamin Sesko appears to be their preferred choice amid rival interest in Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike. Eberechi Eze is another target as they look to rival Tottenham for a key summer target.

Manchester United are plotting a third bid for Bryan Mbeumo after an offer worth £62.5m was rejected by Brentford. Spurs are unwilling to meet Bournemouth’s £70m asking price for Antoine Semenyo, and Liverpool are similarly unwilling to cough up £45m for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. According to reports in Germany, if the Gunners can’t significantly negotiate a price for Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko then Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike will become a ‘serious’ option.

The player has a £68m release clause in his Crystal Palace contract, and considered a key target for north London rivals Tottenham this summer.

The Brighton forward was a key target for Newcastle, along with Liam Delap, but now the pair will play together at with the Blues - and it could be as soon as this Friday at the Club World Cup.

According to reports in Portugal, the 27-year-old Swede believes he has an agreement with his current employers that allows him to depart the Jose Alvalade Stadium should an offer of €60million plus €10m (£58m) arrive.

Now after seeing both Arsenal and Manchester United - two clubs heavily linked with Gyokeres - already spend big this summer, Varandas has moved to double down on the club’s stance and asking price for Gyokeres.

Taking aim at United’s business in particular, Varandas said: "We have been watching the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leave for €65million.

AC Milan have officially confirmed that Kyle Walker will be returning to Manchester City once his loan spell officially ends tomorrow.

There was an option to buy in the loan agreement, but the right-back clearly hasn’t done enough to earn a permanent stay in Italy.

Tomorrow is a big day in the summer transfer window as many players will officially be out of contract at the end of the day.

Newcastle were very much in the race for Joao Pedro, so news of an agreement for the Brazilian to join Chelsea will certainly serve as a blow to Eddie Howe’s side.

Provided Chelsea wrap up a deal for Joao Pedro by next Thursday, the Brazilian will be in contention to make his debut against Palmeiras the following day.

Football.London reports that the 17-year-old has been offered new terms to stay in north London after a breakout campaign where he made 19 appearances in all competitions.
