Ranking the 10 Best Man Utd Midfielders in Premier League History

Manchester United's 13 Premier League titles have been underpinned by some of the competition's greatest midfielders. Here are the 10 best.

London-born Ince is renowned for being the first-ever Black footballer to skipper England. In 1993, just after his senior international debut, the midfielder donned the armband in a game against the United States Men’s National Team.

Overall, he captained the Three Lions seven times. Scoring two goals in 52 matches, he is commonly admired as one of the greatest English footballers of the 1990s thanks to the Guvnor’s ability to boss the middle of the park with ease.

After his playing days, the 57-year-old turned his hand to management by taking up a position at Macclesfield in 2006 before heading the likes of Blackburn Rovers, MK Dons, Notts County and Blackpool over the years.

Ince’s final job was being in charge of Reading – he took over the role of caretaker manager in February 2022 but was formally appointed just three months later. His stint lasted just 44 matches as he chalked up a points per match ratio of 1.14.
