Shelvey, 33, is a free agent following his exit from Burnley earlier this summer. He has been weighing up his options over recent times.
In this latest update regarding his situation, journalist Cooper has claimed on X that he will be looked at by the Tigers. They are gearing up for life under the guidance of Sergej Jakirovic. He left Kayserispor to take over at the MKM Stadium and replaced Ruben Selles in the dugout.
After moving to Turf Moor in January, Shelvey told the Clarets’ official club website: “It feels amazing to get it done. It’s been quite a long process, but it’s all done now and I’m excited for it.
“I like the Club as a whole, every time I have played against Burnley at Turf Moor it’s been tough, but I’m part of this team now and my aim is to do my best to help this Club get back into the Premier League, where it belongs.”

Hull City could see Shelvey as someone to add more competition and depth to their midfield ranks. If he joined HCAFC, he would inject some valuable experience into their squad.

Shelvey has since embarked on spells at Liverpool, Swansea City, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. He then had stints in Turkey at Caykur Rizespor and Eyupspor.
Burnley brought him back to England last winter. He played four times for the Clarets as they won promotion from the second tier.

What now for Jonjo Shelvey and Hull City?
Hull City will see how Shelvey fares before offering a deal. HCAFC are in the hunt for some new faces at the moment.
The Tigers stayed up on goal difference last term after drawing 1-1 away at Portsmouth. Cardiff City, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle went down to League One instead.
They were too close to the drop zone for comfort and will want to compete higher up the table next time around. Jakirovic was picked as their replacement for Ruben Selles, who has since made a surprise move to Sheffield United.
