Manchester United are setting their sights on bolstering their squad after seeing their Premier League rivals make early moves this summer.
Liverpool have unveiled record signing Florian Wirtz and Manchester City have made a flurry of early signings ahead of the Club World Cup, but things have been moving at a slower pace for Ruben Amorim's team, leading to frustration for the Portuguese coach. United have only sealed one deal, with forward Matheus Cunha making a move from Wolves for £62.5million.
One thing that's off the cards is a comeback to Old Trafford for Paul Pogba. The French midfielder had been tipped for a third stint during his free agency, but has instead chosen to join Monaco. Bryan Mbeumo is high on the list of attacking targets, alongside the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, while further spending could depend on the ability to shift some high-earning players who aren't in favour.
One of those big earners is Marcus Rashford, and we've got an update on his potential next move today. Here's the latest transfer talk from Old Trafford.

The duo 'liked' a post suggesting United are set to continue discussions over a transfer for the Brentford ace.
Cameroon international Mbeumo has caught the eye of both United and Tottenham, after he bagged 20 goals in the top flight last term.
Spurs, managed by ex-Brentford gaffer Thomas Frank, can offer Champions League football, but that might not be the clincher.
Mbeumo is down to his last year on his current contract in West London, with Brentford having the option to extend it till 2027.
If no deal is struck before then, he's expected back for pre-season training, but whispers of a departure continue.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who made his debut for United alongside Rashford, reckons the striker needs to find a club where he feels at home, reports the Mirror.
The Dutch defender, who is on the hunt for a new club after parting ways with Bayer Leverkusen in 2024, made his Premier League entrance on the same day as Rashford.
"I just want him to be happy. Everybody just wants him to be happy," Fosu-Mensah shared with The Independent. "The most important thing is for him to feel good, to feel happy.
"Look, the quality is definitely there. Nobody needs to say anything about his quality, because he's a top player."
Rashford seemed to be relishing his football during a loan stint at Aston Villa last season, which led to an England recall. However, he departed at the end of the season when Villa failed to secure a Champions League spot and doesn't want a Midlands return, favouring a switch to Barcelona instead.

United are reportedly open to letting calamity keeper Andre Onana go out on loan, as per The Sun.
The ex-Inter Milan ace has had a rollercoaster ride since joining Old Trafford in 2023, and a rocky second half of the 2024-25 season has fuelled exit rumours.

Monaco are rumoured to be keen, though their financial state has cast doubts over a permanent move. Philipp Kohn and Radoslaw Majecki split the goalkeeping duties at the Ligue 1 club last season, finishing third and securing a Champions League spot.
Emi Martinez is still in the frame to fill Onana's boots if United decide to look elsewhere. If they opt for a more budget-friendly choice, Botafogo's keeper John is said to be in the running.
