The team is also declining Caleb Houstan's $2.1 million option, per the same report.
However, the Magic retain Bird rights for both players, allowing them to re-sign them as free agents if they choose.
Wagner suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in December, limiting him to just 30 games last season. Before the injury, he was enjoying a career-best start, averaging 12.9 points while shooting 56.2% from the field.
The older brother of Magic star Franz Wagner, Moritz was originally selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 25th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
After playing for three teams in his first three seasons, the German was waived late in the 2020–21 campaign and picked up by Orlando.
Houstan, 22, was a second-round pick by the Magic in the 2022 Draft. He averaged 4.1 points in 13.6 minutes per game last season.
