Manchester City have a whole host of exciting young players on their books.
The name that perhaps stands out is Oscar Bobb, who Bernardo Silva raved about recently as he has shown glimpses of his outstanding potential.
Pep Guardiola dubbed Claudio Echeverri as “incredible”, another gifted attacking midfielder who could become a superstar in the future.
Savinho is another player who could have the world at his feet as he is currently far from the finished article.

Now, Pep Guardiola has claimed via Manchester City’s official YouTube channel that if the Brazilian becomes more decisive in the final third, there will be no stopping him: “Look, Savinho had an incredible, incredible season at Girona, was the best player by far and brought that team alongside his teammates, of course to play in the Champions League. Last season, started really well in the first part of the season, after, played a little less for my reasons, not because he was playing badly, it’s because sometimes, the concurrence, the competition between the squad provokes that.”
“But he’s a player with incredible potential, we cannot forget he’s so young. He needs to make the final third more decisive in aspects like the goal he has done in the last game, he has to do it more. But the last goal [against Juventus] was more complicated, more difficult to score than the previous ones, one against one with the ‘keeper that maybe last season he missed.”
Pep Guardiola also believes that the desire to score and create goals consistently should come from within Savinho for him reach the next level.
“The moment he makes this step, in the natural way, it will come because he has incredible quality, individual quality, when it arrives for his commitment, for his target, ‘I want to do it, I want to improve that, I want to be decisive, I want to score goals, I want to make more assists’, he will become an extraordinary player because he can play on both sides, right and left, so fast, he understands tactically the movements he has to do, that’s why he can play with us so I’m really pleased, of course.”
Savinho reveals whether Pep Guardiola gives him freedom
With Savinho just being 21, he has plenty of time left in his career to become the world-class winger Pep Guardiola believes he could become one day.
Leroy Sane’s progression from being a budding prospect to an elite wideman at Manchester City shows that it is entirely possible for such young forwards to take huge strides in terms of his productivity.
Last season, Savinho registered three goals and 13 assists in all competitions, which shows that as a creator, he especially has the potential to become one of the best in the Premier League.

Savinho revealed he is loving life under Pep Guardiola and has the freedom to play his natural game, revealing in April: “He always tells me not to change my personality of playing on the front foot, of always trying, if I make a mistake to try again. He speaks to all of the players like this, giving them confidence.”
It’s difficult when you make mistakes in the game, you end up losing your confidence. But he gives me a lot of confidence when I’m involved in a goal, make a pass or complete a dribble, he always motivates me. I’m so grateful for his support.”
