Wolves are looking to build a competitive squad for the 2025/26 season, but it looks as though one striker target will now be heading elsewhere.
Wolves have brought in just one new face so far this summer.
Fer Lopez has come in from Celta Vigo, but three key players have already left.
Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia have all left, so Wolves now face an extremely important next few weeks.
One position that is high on the agenda for Wolves is a new striker, with Jorgen Strand Larsen needing cover and competition.
The Norway international had an excellent first season, but will need someone to push him in 2025/26.
Wolves recently had interest in Tammy Abraham, but a big update has been given by Fabrizio Romano that all but confirms he will not be coming to Molineux.

Last month, it was claimed Wolves were strongly interested in Abraham, who has been playing over in Italy for the last four years.

He joined AS Roma from Aston Villa, and spent last season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances.
Abraham’s future had been the subject of big speculation for weeks, with Wolves among the teams keen to sign him.
But a move to Molineux now looks to be dead in the water.

Fabrizio Romano reported last night: “EXCLUSIVE: Besiktas reach verbal agreement to sign Tammy Abraham on permanent deal from AS Roma, here we go!

Tammy Abraham could play with Nelson Semedo at Besiktas
So Wolves won’t be signing Abraham this summer.
But the links to Abraham were not particularly concrete, nor were they very frequent, so perhaps he wasn’t too high on the agenda

But a £17 million transfer fee seems quite reasonable, and he may well have made for a decent signing at that price point, especially as someone with Premier League experience.
Given Romano’s reliability, it’s now only a matter of time before Abraham becomes a Besiktas player.
Besiktas are also looking to sign Nelson Semedo, whose contract at Wolves expires after today, so potentially he could become teammates with the Portugal international.
