NBA analyst predicts major trade for Utah Jazz after Sexton-Nurkic swap

After the Utah Jazz traded Collin Sexton and a second-round pick to the Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic, famous NBA analyst Bill Simmons predicted the team is planning a much bigger trade.

On Sunday, the Utah Jazz surprised many by trading Collin Sexton and a second-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic.

After the trade was announced, NBA analyst Bill Simmons took to social media to share his thoughts.

"This trade makes ZERO SENSE for Utah, which means there has to be a much-bigger trade coming," Simmons wrote on X.

The numbers highlight just how puzzling the Sexton-Nurkic swap was. Last season, Sexton averaged 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, shooting an efficient 48.0% from the field and 40.6% from three-point range.

In comparison, Nurkic averaged 8.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, shooting 47.7% from the field and 30.5% from beyond the arc.

With Sexton now off the table, attention shifts to other Jazz star big men like Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler, who have been linked to potential trades this offseason.
