Man Utd are set to make an important transfer agreement at youth level as they build for the future.
Manchester United are planning for the future with a key deal at youth level set to be signed. The focus is on United's business at first-team level this summer, but the club are working just as hard to secure the best young talent in a hope to save themselves money further down the line.
United are set to complete a deal to sign Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno in the coming days, while they will also sign Le Havre teenager Enzo Kana-Biyik and Southampton youngster Harley Emsden-James at the start of next month. There is set to be further good news, with a talented teenager reportedly poised to sign a new four-year deal with the club as well.
Taking to social media on Monday morning, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano shared news Jayden Ngwashi would remain at Old Trafford after recent transfer interest from a host of clubs. "Manchester United agree new four year deal with 16 year old talent Jayden Ngwashi as part of the Academy," he posted on social media. Who is Jayden Ngwashi?
Jayden Ngwashi is one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Manchester United and had been attracting serious interest from a host of top European clubs this summer. The 16-year-old made his league debut for the U18 side at the beginning of March and then went a step further with his U21 debut a few weeks later.
It shows just how highly the centre-back is rated that he has already made two appearances at U21 level and United were desperate to keep hold of him due to his huge potential. Although Brexit rules limit the moves youngsters can make at his age, Ngwashi has an Italian passport and would have been able to join clubs across the continent.
The teenage centre-back has already represented both England and Italy at international level and will have a tough decision to make when he chooses which country he would like to play for at senior level. His most recent international involvement came for the England U17 side earlier in the year.
