Sheffield United narrowly missed out on a promotion to the Premier League after losing the Championship playoff final to Sunderland.
Last month, AS reported Vinícius Souza is ready to leave the Blades to join a club playing at an elite level.
At the weekend, the Brazilian media reported VfL Wolfsburg interest in the Sheffield United player. SBT Rio journalist Venê Casagrande said a deal could be worth around €13-15m and that Vinícius Souza is set to travel to Germany this week for a medical with the Bundesliga club.
AZ/WAZ relay this claim and then provide their own update on the case. The newspaper’s sources have told them there’s no date yet set for the 26-year-old to undergo medical tests with Wolfsburg.
However, the German club could reach a quick agreement with Rubén Sellés’ side so that the Brazilian can soon start training with his new club.
Wolfsburg seem optimistic of concluding the operation for the South American as AZ/WAZ reports he is set be their next signing.
Vinícius Souza joined Sheffield United from Lommel SK in 2023 and has been a regular for them, playing 38 games across all competitions last season.
