Nottingham Forest want €15m for transfer – Talks haven’t started yet

Towards the end of March, Correio da Manhã reported Nottingham Forest’s Jota Silva could move to Sporting this summer. Fast forward to June and the Portuguese press covers the latest.

At the weekend, Record reported the Lions have identified the winger as a target for this summer.

Monday’s edition of O Jogo backs up Record’s claim and provides more on Sporting’s interest in the Nottingham Forest player.

The winger left Vitória Guimarães for Nottingham Forest in August of last year, managing four goals and three assists from 37 games since then.

His minutes were limited at Nottingham Forest as Nuno Espírito Santo handed him only five Premier League starts last season.

Jota Silva could return to Portugal this summer, where Sporting are looking to sign him. He previously worked with Rui Borges at Vitória Guimarães and his profile pleases the current Lions manager.

Borges is also keen on Spartak Moscow’s Ricardo Mangas, along with the 25-year-old. The newspaper states he’s confident the duo can be assets for Sporting.

Nottingham Forest invested €7m to buy the Portugal international and gave him a contract until 2028. According to O Jogo, the Premier League club want €15m to sanction his sale, which appears to be a very reasonable request.

At this moment in time, the Primeira Liga winners haven’t started talks for either Jota Silva or Manga.
