“Pride ourselves” | ExWHUEmployee | West Ham transfer reports clarified

**West Ham are being continually linked to being in advanced talks over players this summer, as ExWHUEmployee provides an update on the state of play.**

Unfortunately with its being a transfer window, it is commonplace for accounts and some journalists to report transfers in the hope it will happen, so they can claim to be the first that ‘broke the story’.

This in turn sadly gets many supporters excited and hopeful of deals being concluded, however much of the time the reports prove to be false and in turn leaves many frustrated and angry.

Our club insider ExWHUEmployee and The West Ham Way are focused in only reporting what is factual, which means a lot of the window is spent denying these reports where certain people have taken a punt on the ‘news’.

Ex has today again had to deny the latest reports which has been given much attention, this time being midfielder Rocco Reitz.

This follows the reports of Juventus being close to signing Nayef Aguerd and the club close to signing Lucas Stassin of AS Saint-Étienne.

This isn’t to say these deals will not happen this window, but to advise they are not at a stage that is being reported.

“I am sorry to have to do this again and I feel like I am just the master of doom at the moment but the club have denied another transfer story,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Following press reports that West Ham are in pole position to sign German midfielder Rocco Reitz we contacted our top transfer sources to find out if this was the case.

“Whilst it was stressed by a couple of sources that this is a player we admire especially following a great Under 21s tournament,  no contact has been made with the player or club.

“The top source went as far as to describe the reports as “rubbish”.

“Whilst we understand fans’ frustration with this we can only report what we are told and always maintain accuracy is what we pride ourselves on.

“Most summers we spend more time denying rumours than creating or confirming them.

“We do expect there to be hopefully some movement soon (with this tournament being over, as well as players returning to preseason).”
