Liverpool announce departure of full-back Hinds

Liverpool have announced the news that long-serving full-back Taylor Hinds is leaving the club this summer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the player’s departure via an official club press release from The Reds this morning.

The 26-year-old Jamaican international defender joined Liverpool in summer 2020 after leaving neighbours Everton. Hinds has gone on to establish herself in The Reds’ back-line, making 131 appearances in all competitions and scoring eight goals. The player was a Barclays WSL2 winner with Liverpool in 2021/2022 while she has made a significant contribution towards the club re-establishing themselves in the top tier. Hinds has also spent some of her time at the club as vice-captain and has become a firm fans’ favourite.

After her Liverpool exit was announced, Hinds said “Dear Reds, I’m sorry I haven’t had the chance to say a proper goodbye.

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so welcome when I joined back in 2020.

“We’ve shared some incredible highs that I’ll never forget – being promoted back into the WSL and then having the chance of taking part in the 2022 parade, which was one of the best days of my life.

“I’ll always be grateful for the love and support I received from all of you – I could always hear you.

“I wish nothing but continued success for this team and this club. I’m incredibly proud to have been part of this club and to have worn the shirt – it’s truly been a privilege. Thank you for everything.”

Hinds is likely to remain in the Barclays Women’s Super League with the player having been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
