Sources: Arsenal's 'incredible' target informs new manager he wants to leave, Andrea Berta in contact

TBR Football can confirm that one Arsenal transfer target has informed the club that he wants to leave this summer.

Arsenal remain in the hunt for new attackers this transfer window, with several names linked with a move.

Viktor Gyokeres remains a strong contender to join Arsenal, while Benjamin Sesko also remains strongly linked with a move to the Emirates.

Another name who has been linked with a move is Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman.

Ademola Lookman wants to leave Atalanta amid Arsenal interest

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that the player has confirmed with new Atalanta manager Ivan Juric that he wants to leave.

Juric is open to him leaving as they have just signed Kamaldeen Sulemana. Arsenal remain in contact over Lookman, who they have had on their radar.

It has been previously reported that Arsenal have been in contact with Lookman, who they like for his versatility, direct play, and explosive pace, making him a serious threat in the final third.

However, TBR Football understands that while Andrea Berta remains in contact with Lookman’s representatives, Rodrygo is the priority target for the Gunners.

Lookman’s people are also touching base with other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Villa and Tottenham, keeping them informed of the situation.

Man City and Liverpool were also previously interested, but they are no longer in the picture having already made other signings.

Ian Wright has previously recommended Arsenal to sign Ademola Lookman

Ian Wright has previously urged Arsenal to sign Lookman during the January transfer window when Mikel Arteta was in desperate need of an attacker.

Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Wright recommended two players that his former side should look to sign, Omar Marmoush and Lookman. He said: “You know what? There’s two players I’d probably go for here. But like, we obviously have to go for one.

“And I’d like people to have a look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt.

“You know him, right? You know him very well. And you know, from Eintracht Frankfurt, and you know, Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, bro.

“If you’re going, if I’m going now, and you have to get something, if you go hard, bam, I’m going hard on them two. Go and look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt, what he’s doing.”

While Marmoush ended up signing for Man City that month, Lookman remains available and could be a great signing for Arsenal.

The ‘incredible‘ 27-year-old has established himself as one of Serie A’s most exciting attackers since his move from RB Leipzig in 2022.

His most memorable moment for the Italian club came during the 2024 Europa League final, where he scored a stunning hat-trick to help his side win their first major trophy in decades.

In 118 games for the club, he has scored 52 goals and assisted another 25 across all competitions.
