Desire to confirm player’s sale to Nottingham Forest this week – Being encouraged into move

Botafogo’s Igor Jesus is set to arrive in England to join Nottingham Forest this summer. The Premier League club are also working on a move for his club teammate, Jair Cunha.

Earlier this month, Botafogo owner John Textor said Nottingham Forest have made advances to sign the duo. He added the Reds also want Cuiabano, but the fullback won’t be leaving the club.

Since then, the Brazilian press has stated Jair Cunha isn’t keen on a move to Nottingham Forest as he wants to continue at Botafogo.

Globo Esporte now claim Botafogo haven’t been stopped in their tracks by Cunha’s preferences and would like to confirm the 20-year-old’s sale to Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilians have been knocked out of the Club World Cup by Palmeiras and will now return home. The report states Botafogo’s directors have requested a meeting with the centre-back’s agent this week to define his future.

Globo say the defender is ‘very close’ Nottingham Forest, with Botafogo clearly putting pressure on to get Cunha to accept a transfer.
