All it took was one NFL season for Jared Verse to vault himself into the spotlight. After being selected No. 19 overall by Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft, he wreaked havoc against opposing defenses.
As he rounds into his second year in the professional ranks, last year's Associated Press Rookie of the Year has his sights set on bigger accolades. Verse was recently asked if he'd rather win four Defensive Player of the Year awards or one Super Bowl.
"We don't even gotta talk about it. Super Bowl all the way. Yeah," Verse said, then briefly paused. "Hell no, man. Hell no. I ain't even gonna lie to you. Four? Four? Get that out of here. I'm going, man.
"Two or three, I would've been like, 'Oh yeah, championship all the way.' ... Four! Four! Four! Let the team see this. I play for Team Me."
Fans took to the replies to discuss Verse's comment.
"Welp, there goes the we not me culture," someone said with a laughing emoji.
"I don't blame him," a commenter wrote.
Another fan believes Verse's choice gives the Rams a read of what he'll value in the coming years.

"This tells us all we need to know abt contract talks next yr. He's holding out for sure!" They predicted.
Someone else believes that many honors would earn him a bust in Canton.
"4x DPOY = HOF" They said.
"Lawrence Taylor and AD got 3 and a Super Bowl tho...verse you can do it both big dog," another reasoned.
That fan was referencing former Rams star Aaron Donald, who was the league's top defender in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
