Arsenal are set to return with a second bid for Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera, having agreed personal terms with the Gunners already.

Fabrizio Romano reports that despite Valencia rejecting Arsenal’s opening offer of around €14m (£12m) for Cristhian Mosquera, the Gunners will return to the table hoping to do a deal in the region of €20-25m (£17.1-21.4m).

The journalist confirms that Mosquera has already reached a full agreement on personal terms, and he’s given his approval to a transfer to Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta. He’s keen to play in the Premier League and to play for Arsenal.

Romano adds that he expects Arsenal to “go very strong” to get a deal done for Mosquera.

In Spain, Las Provincias suggest that Arsenal’s intended bid in the region of €20-25m should be enough to reach an agreement, as that’s seemingly the amount Valencia are looking for.

The player’s contract expires in 2026, so Valencia are likely aware they can’t hold out for too much more without risking ending up with nothing.

There’s also a lot of goodwill between Mosquera and Valencia after his many years in their academy, so they won’t want to jeopardise his opportunity to play for a top club like Arsenal after he’s already agreed terms.

Mosquera is reportedly ready to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba for starts, not showing any apprehension about taking on the challenge.

The 21-year-old made 41 appearances for Valencia this season, as well as playing nine times for the Spain u21s. He had the best ground duel win rate in La Liga in 2024/25 (of players who contested 100 or more).
