Manchester United have been “regularly in touch” as they decide whether to activate the release clause in the contract of Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, according to reports in Italy.
The 25-year-old can be signed for €52m (£44.5m) in the first two weeks of July, and the Corriere Dello Sport claim that the Red Devils are among the likeliest candidates to secure his services.
They say that Ruben Amorim’s side watched Kean “every Sunday” last season and a bid is under serious consideration.

With United still hoping to land the likes of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, though, they have yet to commit to signing Kean.
Even so, they don’t have much time to decide, with the clause only being active until July 15th.
Kean does have other suitors
While the Red Devils are one of the leading contenders to snap up the Italian international, the Corriere Dello Sport also mention Arsenal as a potential suitor, but they are keen to emphasise that the Gunners have “much more on the sidelines”, having not made any concerted effort to buy him yet.
Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah are expected to pose more of a threat. They have already signalled that they are prepared to pay Kean €15m a year. However, as things stand, the striker has made no decision on where he will play his football next campaign.
Man United remain focused on recruiting another forward
Any bid for Kean will likely have to wait until the Manchester side have concluded negotiations with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.
Their second bid (which was worth in excess of £60m including add-ons) was rejected but there is optimism that their next proposal will lead to a breakthrough in talks.
