Contact made for Nottingham Forest forward – Will need to offer €20m

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are showing interest in Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi. The Istanbul side will be in the market for a striker this summer with Ciro Immobile on the verge of departing.

Sabah report on Besiktas’ pursuit for the Nottingham Forest player as Immobile nears a return to Serie A with Bologna.

It’s claimed the Istanbul side have made an approach for the Nigerian, but Forest will be demanding €20m for the attacker. However, Besiktas aren’t looking for such a deal and only want to loan the 27-year-old.

Negotiations are likely to continue between the two clubs, although it seems the Premier League side only want to sell Awoniyi on a permanent basis.

Besiktas have other targets on their radar and there are reports they’re also in talks to sign Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg. The Black Eagles want to loan the Dane, whilst securing an option to buy.

Awoniyi made 31 appearances in all competitions for Nottingham Forest last season, mainly as a late substitute, scoring just two goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2027.
