Newcastle United have been linked with a loan move for Manchester City star Jack Grealish this summer. A new report has shared how he really feels about the move.
The first couple of weeks in the summer transfer window have been fairly negative for the Magpies, with Joao Pedro opting to join Chelsea and approaches for the likes of Anthony Elanga rejected.
However, there has been some good news on Monday morning, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that James Trafford is close to joining Newcastle United as Eddie Howe’s recruitment team move closer to an agreement with Burnley over a transfer fee.
The 22-year-old will join a long list of goalkeepers on Tyneside and is set to battle with Nick Pope for Newcastle’s No.1 spot. In the meantime, reports have suggested Newcastle are looking at signing Jack Grealish on loan this summer.
Despite finding some good form towards the end of the campaign, Grealish was left out of Manchester City’s Club World Cup squad.
Ben Foster wants Grealish to join Newcastle, but a new report has suggested what the 29-year-old is thinking about his future.

Jack Grealish is not likely to join Newcastle United this summer
Reports have stated that Newcastle could sign Grealish for £50m this summer, but the Magpies are only interested in a loan move for him.
Wages will naturally be a big issue for any club that wants to sign Grealish. The England international earns an eye-watering £300,000-a-week at Man City, making him the highest-paid English player in the Premier League. If Grealish were to join Newcastle on loan, Man City would still need to pay a good amount of his wages to make it worthwhile.

However, according to the Sun, Grealish is happy to wait for his options to emerge before making a final decision on his future. The Magpies are not the only team with an interest in Grealish, with the likes of Everton and Napoli reportedly interested in him.
A move to Serie A may prove to be a good thing for him, as he would follow in the footsteps of fellow Man City player Kyle Walker.
Newcastle United do not need Jack Grealish after new transfer stance
There is no doubt Grealish is still a top player who has just struggled to hit the levels expected of him in the North West. He still has enough time to prove his quality and find more success elsewhere.
With that being said, that does not mean Newcastle should try to sign him this summer. It feels like a waste of time, especially given that the Magpies do not need another left-winger.
Grealish is a player who deserves to play every week, and there is a slim chance of him doing that at Newcastle. Howe already has Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes at his disposal – the pair showed their quality in patches last season and are both likely to stay at the club to help the Magpies’ upcoming Champions League campaign.
There is an argument that Grealish would be successful if he played as an attacking midfielder at Newcastle, but it would mean dropping a key star to favour him.
Grealish to Newcastle does not look like a deal that will happen this summer, but reports may begin to pop up again towards the end of the transfer window if his future still looks uncertain.
