Aston Villa are reported to be interested in CA Osasuna defender Enzo Boyomo.

Spanish outlet Noticias de Navarra claims Villa are one of several clubs who have ‘expressed interest’ in the centre-back, along with the likes of Juventus, Como and Galatasaray.

The former Blackburn Rovers trainee has a €25 million buyout clause in his contract, a deal that still has four years to run and was only signed when he moved from Real Valladolid to Osasuna last summer for just €5m.

Since then, the 23-year-old has seen his career lift off, playing 37 La Liga games as Osasuna finished ninth and making his Cameroon debut.

The report suggests clubs are reluctant to pay the full release fee but have been told ‘clause or nothing’ and that Boyomo will not agitate for a move. It adds: ‘Until then, he will remain a key player in Lisci's defense for next season. And he doesn't seem to dislike the plan.”

Villa are currently looking at their options at centre back, with Axel Disasi not returning after his loan spell last season.

Ezri Konsa is established as one of Unai Emery’s two central defenders, while Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres are battling for the other spot.

Boyomo was born in Toulouse and spent time with his home-town club before moving to Blackburn as a youngster. However, he rejected Rovers’ offer of a professional contract and instead moved to Spain with Albacete. Last season was his first in the top flight football.
