Aston Villa expect to be compliant with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) for the current financial year.

This confidence stems from ongoing talks to sell a stake in their women’s team to investors, as reported by The Telegraph. The deal could raise around £55 million.

Under PSR regulations, Villa can include this potential sale in their 2024/25 accounts, provided the agreement is made in principle - even if it hasn't been finalised.

According to The Telegraph, the club is negotiating a deal to sell up to 10 percent of the women’s team to external investors, with the remaining stake to be sold to the club’s holding company.

As a result, Villa are not under pressure to sell any players before the end of today, which marks the conclusion of the Premier League’s accounting period.

However, Kaine Kesler-Hayden is expected to join Coventry City, having agreed a deal with the Championship side. The right-back is set to undergo a medical before signing his contract.

Meanwhile, Louie Barry could also be on the move, with Hull City working on a permanent deal to sign the forward following his short loan spell last season.

Villa have already generated significant revenue this financial year through player sales, including Jhon Durán and Moussa Diaby.

Additionally, the club earned approximately £100 million from their run to the Champions League quarter-finals last season.

Villa were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals, after previously defeating Club Brugge in the round of 16 - a stage they reached by finishing in the top eight of the league phase.

The Premier League’s PSR regulations limit spending in relation to revenue. Under current rules, clubs are not permitted to post losses exceeding £105 million over a rolling three-year period.

Last summer, Villa raised approximately £70 million from player sales before the June 30 PSR deadline. Tim Iroegbunam was sold to Everton for £9 million, Omari Kellyman joined Chelsea for £19 million, and Douglas Luiz completed a £42 million move to Juventus.
