One Trade Idea For Kirk Cousins And Kyle Pitts That The Falcons Can Look At

Both Pitts and Cousins are at different places with the Falcons, as Pitts needs to have a breakout year and Cousins is about to be a backup quarterback which is something he is not used to. Both players are still linked to different teams, and each could end up on different AFC teams if things change before the season.

They both will more than likely stay in Atlanta, but there is always that possibility that they end up somewhere else soon. Both Pitts and Cousins continue to be in trade rumors that have stemmed for months now.

The AFC could be where both of these players end up before the 2025 season or even before the trade deadline.

Kirk Cousins: New York Jets

The Jets have transitioned from Aaron Rodgers to Justin Fields for 2025, and they could still be looking for a veteran quarterback that could be a starter, as their only true veteran is Tyrod Taylor. Cousins could be a valuable asset on a team like the Jets, that like the Falcons have young and impressive weapons on the offense.

Fields has not fully proven himself as a full-time starter in the NFL, but as of right now sees himself as the quarterback for the Jets. The Jets would have to give up a few picks and potentially a player to be able to take on the $180 million contract that Cousins is currently on.

Kyle Pitts: Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce is a first ballot hall of famer who potentially has a year or two left in the NFL. The Chiefs will need to look for a tight end to fill in that hole in the near future, and Pitts could be that player for them. Pitts is entering his fifth season in the league and has struggled to find his footing outside of his rookie year.

The Chiefs would be a good destination for Pitts in 2025 as he could learn under Kelce and put up productive numbers with Patrick Mahomes. This trade is a little more far-fetched, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. Like the Jets trade, the Falcons would look for a few picks, with one being a third-round pick or higher because of the potential that Pitts has.

Both of these teams are good locations for Cousins and Pitts, but it all comes down to if they want to make a deal with the Falcons.
