Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal made contact with Eberechi Eze’s camp over the weekend, with talks taking place for the Crystal Palace player and the Gunners informed on the conditions of a potential deal.
Romano adds that contrary to some recent reports, Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on Eze.
Some journalists had responded to the initial claims of Arsenal’s interest in Eze by claiming Spurs didn’t want him anyway, but that appears to be untrue.

TalkSPORT and The Times were among the outlets to break the news that Arsenal were adding Eze to their summer shortlist last week, with John Cross later reporting for the Mirror that the Gunners had held talks with Eze’s camp.
Cross added that it’s not clear yet whether Arsenal will actually push forward with a deal, or whether sporting director Andrea Berta is simply lining him up as a potential target if other moves fail.
We’ve seen that strategy in action all summer with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, with Arsenal evidently only planning to sign one but keeping both deals alive until they’re ready to pull the trigger.

27-year-old Eze is experienced in the Premier League, and he directly contributed to 25 goals in 43 games in 2024/25, including a winner for Palace in the FA Cup final.
But Arsenal seemingly remain interested in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as well, so they’re unlikely to pull the trigger on a deal for Eze before determining whether or not the Brazilian is available.
