Jets RB Breece Hall Has High Goals as 'All-Around Back'

As Breece Hall prepares for his fourth NFL season, the veteran running back has made his goals perfectly clear.

"Just proving that I'm still the guy and still one of the best in the league," Hall said ahead of the 2025 season. "Just trying to go out there every weekend and prove that I deserve to be out there."

Hall, selected by the Green & White in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, has experienced ups and downs over his first three seasons in New York. After a strong rookie campaign was cut short after seven games due to a torn ACL, Hall bounced back with 1,585 total yards during the 2023 season.

Though Hall didn't reach that level of production in 2024, he showed his potential as a dual-threat tailback. In addition to 876 yards on the ground and 5 rushing scores, Hall recorded 57 receptions for 483 yards and 3 touchdowns

Hall is eager to take on a larger role in 2025. He is confident that several new faces in the building -- including OC Tanner Engstrand -- can help provide that spark.

"He's all about business," Hall said of Engstrand. "He loves ball. I love how detailed he is and how he's on everybody."

During OTAs, Engstrand and QB Justin Fields, who signed with the Green & White in free agency, got their first taste of Hall's work ethic and versatility.

"He's just a worker," Engstrand said. "He's going to go to work, he works on his craft, he's detailed, and he is an all-around player. He's not pigeon-holed into one type of back. He's not an inside runner, not an outside runner. He can do a lot of all of it. The pass game is huge for us, too."
