Liverpool may be forced to accept offers of between £40-50million for defender Ibrahima Konate this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds are concerned about the prospect of losing the 26-year-old on a free transfer in 2026, when his contract at Anfield is due to expire.
Sources say Konate has rejected Liverpool’s initial offer of an extension – raising fears he could follow Trent Alexander-Arnold and quit the club for free.
Real Madrid are again interested in a raid on the Reds if the France international defender runs down his deal at Anfield.

Sources say Liverpool may have to reluctantly accept offers for Konate if his situation is not resolved before the September deadline.
Paris Saint-Germain are another club keeping tabs on Konate, while Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have also been credited with an interest.

Guehi has Liverpool concerns
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed on 26 June that Marc Guehi is in no real rush to make a decision on a move away from Crystal Palace amid “concerns” over joining Liverpool.
Guehi is wanted by almost every elite club in the Premier League but Liverpool are expected to make a concrete move after completing the sale of Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.
But he is keen to play regularly at any potential new club ahead of the World Cup in North America next year and would have to back himself to become first choice if he decides to join Liverpool.
