Aston Villa have been credited with an interest in Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, as they prepare to freshen up their goalkeeping department in the summer transfer window.

have already bid farewell to Robin Olsen after three and a half years acting as Emiliano Martinez's back-up goalkeeper; the Swede has returned to his boyhood club Malmo on a free transfer after his contract at Villa expired.

It means that, irrespective of the future of himself, the Lions are in the market for another stopper. Martinez has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid while there remains interest from the Saudi Pro League in the Argentine, who joined in 2020 from Arsenal.

Villa 'admire' Lammens, 22, who plays for Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp, although they're not alone - indeed United, who are keen to move out number one Andre Onana this summer, have also been linked.

Lammens, who turns 23 next week, enjoyed a breakthrough last season; he played 44 times and kept 10 clean sheets in all competitions, while also being called up to the Belgium squad for their UEFA Nations League campaign and World Cup qualifiers. He has two years remaining on his current contract and is valued by Transfermarkt at £9m.
