REPORT: Manchester United‘Submit’£29.9m Bid To Sign England International With 36 PL Goals

Manchester United have reportedly submitted an offer to sign Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney for around £30 million.

The Red Devils are looking to sign a striker this summer as they continue their squad rebuild under Ruben Amorim, and they have been linked to several top names. Viktor Gyokeres remains a strong target for United, as well as Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins; however it now seems that a new name has emerged.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, reported in ManchesterWorld, Manchester United have tabled an offer of £29.9m including add-ons to sign Ivan Toney, who moved to the Saudi Pro League from Brentford last summer.

United were linked with Toney last year, but they opted against signing him, and the 29-year-old instead made the controversial move to join Al-Ahli for a fee of £36m. He has been successful in the Saudi Pro League, scoring 30 goals in 44 games.

However, it now seems that Manchester United are keen to bring him back to the Premier League, where he scored 36 goals and 11 assists during his time with Brentford, establishing himself as one of the best in the division.

Toney would be a much cheaper striker option for Man United, compared to Gyokeres or Watkins, and also, he could pair up with former teammate at Brentford Bryan Mbeumo, who Manchester United are also trying to sign.

Would Toney be a good signing for Manchester United?

Toney’s record in the Premier League speaks for itself, he is an intelligent striker, who knows when to get into the right positions.

He also liked to run through the defence, getting in-behind, and winning one on one battles with the goalkeeper. His pace, although underrated, is very strong, and it is something that Manchester United have really lacked over the past year in attack.

Partnering Toney up with Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and potentially Bryan Mbeumo would mean he gets good service, and if he does get that service, he has shown time and time again that he knows how to put the ball in the net. It would be a great piece of business for United.
