Manchester United have so far failed to make an offer for Bryan Mbeumo that satisfies Brentford’s asking price.
The Red Devils turned their full attention to Bryan Mbeumo as soon as the £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha was finalised.
The latest offer saw United bid £62.5m for Mbeumo – the same value as Cunha – but it has been rejected by the London club.
Brentford changed their valuation of Mbeumo and are now asking for an even higher price in order to agree to the 25-year-old’s sale.
From the beginning of the transfer saga, Mbeumo has only wanted to join United, and there is still a growing confidence that a deal will eventually happen.

“There has been significant interest in Bryan,” Giles confirmed. “It’s been well documented and publicised about his current preference.
“I think, from what I understand, he’s also happy to stay at Brentford next year as well.
“If that deal is right, there is a deal to do. If not then he will stay.
“We’ve spoken to Bryan and his representatives and it is not a given that he will depart this summer. There is interest, he had a great season last season, it’s inevitable there will be interest in him.”
Man United are preparing an improved Bryan Mbeumo offer
After matching the fee paid for Cunha, many at United likely expected the £62.5m offer to be enough to secure Mbeumo’s signature this summer.
However, it has now been made clear that Ineos will have to increase their offer to get a deal done.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that United are preparing a third bid for Mbeumo which will increase the fee above £62.5m.
Giles confirmed in his interview that Mbeumo’s “preference” is to join United, so hopefully with the player continuing to push for an exit, a deal will eventually be done.
