Kansas City isn’t exactly ground zero for Oklahoma City Thunder fandom, but the NBA team does have support in the area.
That’s helped in part by FanDuel Sports Kansas City airing the Thunder’s games during the regular season. And the Thunder winning the NBA Finals also doesn’t hurt.
The Thunder will be bringing a pair of youth camps in Kansas City at Hy-Vee Arena on July 29 and 30. Here is what is planned.
Hustle Camp
This is a one-day event for kids ages 6-14. The three-hour camp “focuses on beginning to mid-level fundamentals and drills such as defense, ball-handling, shooting, layups and more,” the Thunder said.
Participants will receive a t-shirt, basketball, water bottle and a ticket to a Thunder home game. The cost is $65.
“Thunder Youth Basketball camps focus on defined fundamentals: instilling the importance of teamwork, creating a positive learning environment, and increasing campers’ self-confidence to encourage hard work, focus, and persistence,” the team said.
Dance camp
These one-day camps also will be held on July 29 and 30 at Hy-Vee Arena.
The Thunder said a session is three hours long and kids can learn “dance techniques and improve their skills with the O-City Crew! Camps are designed for boys and girls of all skills levels ages 8-16.” It costs $45.
Kids will receive a t-shirt, water bottle and a ticket to a 2025-26 Thunder home game.
