Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on West Ham's Mohammed Kudus in a blockbuster move.

The Irons winger, 24, has been impressive since his transfer from Ajax two years ago, boasting an impressive tally of 19 goals and 13 assists in 80 appearances for the East London outfit, gaining interest from Spurs as well as Manchester United and Chelsea.

Tottenham are keen to strengthen their squad this summer under the guidance of new manager Thomas Frank. But they appear to have missed out on Bryan Mbeumo to United in what has been a slow start to the Lilywhites' transfer window.

Spurs had previously made a £70million bid for Mbeumo in mid-June, with Frank eager to reunite with the Cameroon international following their successful six-year stint at Brentford. However, Mbeumo expressed his desire to only sign for United, and it is anticipated that the Red Devils will seal the deal before the Premier League season kicks off.

Frank is eager to inject fresh talent into the Spurs squad as they gear up for their Champions League comeback, having secured their spot in the tournament by defeating United in the Europa League final in May.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs are hopeful they can secure Kudus for significantly less than his £85m release clause.

There has been an unofficial transfer embargo between Tottenham and West Ham since 2015 when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prevented Emmanuel Adebayor from joining the Hammers.

However, Spurs are looking to break this embargo, with West Ham reportedly willing to sell Kudus to fund their summer overhaul.

Despite being tied to the east London club until 2028, it's rumoured he has a release clause that could be triggered in the first 10 days of July, although Spurs might avoid shelling out if they agree on a fee for the Ghanaian.

West Ham boss Graham Potter praised Kudus's dedication last season after he returned to the squad, having missed five games following his red card against Tottenham in October for slapping Mickey van de Ven.

"He's been working hard since we've been here, I've said that many times in press conferences," Potter said. "We can see the talent, we can see the potential - but it's our responsibility, and his, to try and get more."
